2013–2014 School Year

The Khe Sanh Veterans, Inc. Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce the 2013-2014 Award winners for academic achievement.

The following young scholars are children and grandchildren of Khe Sanh Veterans and have maintained excellent levels of educational success.

1st award

Kelly is the granddaughter of Charles Coppess, 20th Tactical Air Sq. /SOG.
She is a sophomore attending Mich. State Univ. studying Anthropology with career goals in forensics anthropology supporting law enforcement.

Daughter of Thomas Friel, G 2/26. She is a sophomore pursuing a music degree from the College of St. Rose and is very active in music ministry, church and community functions.

Granddaughter of George Myrick, D 1/26. She will be a senior achieving her degree in nursing at Southwestern OK State with an ultimate goal of earning a Master’s degree in anesthesiology

Grandson of James Sluss, HQ 26th Marines. Sam will be a freshman at Kansas State U majoring in civil engineering and quite involved with wildlife and outdoor activities.

Son of Patrick Ennis, H 2/3. Joe is a music business major at Tennessee Technology Univ. pursuing a degree in Music Performance. He is active in the university orchestra, jazz band and gymnastics. He is a recipient of the Eagle Scout Award.

Grandson of Russ Turner, A 1/26. Sam will be attending Missouri University of Science and Technology in the field of chemical engineering. He was active in high school athletics and volunteer fundraising events in his community
